On November 6, 1979, Tom Golden captured the Indiana Harbor Belt delivering over 20 brand new Conrail GP15-1s at Gibson Yard.  Stored east of the Indianapolis Boulevard 9-span bridge, the sun angle was perfect for roster shots of each of these road switchers.  Once in service with Conrail, these Geeps would never look as clean again.

 

 

 

NWIRPS meetings are held on the first Thursday of each new month, taking place on the second floor in the history room at the Hammond Public Library, 564 E. State Street, Hammond Indiana, 46320. Unless otherwise noted, meetings begin at 6:30PM.
